Confession Time....

About 2 years ago I was horrified to discover I had breached the 100 kg mark. I went and signed up with Sureslim, forked out about $800 and lost 15 kgs. But... it was so restrictive. I was constantly hungry, tired, grumpy and fell off the wagon often.

I put on about 5 kgs and have remained there for the past year or so...

Now I HATE admitting my weight, even to my own husband, but in the name of transparency and accountability I just need to suck it up and put it out there. 

So here goes.... (insert panicked breathing here)...... My starting weight on Tuesday the 24th of April, 2012 was 91.8kgs. Mr Dukan was 110kgs.

Here we are, four days in and I'm pleased to say that this morning I weighed in at 99.5kgs. That's 2.5 kgs!!! (well near enough for my liking... ;) )

Mr Dukan tells me he is down 3kgs, but will take a snap in the morning as evidence.

I am amazed as I feel we have been eating like sumo wrestlers without the training. This is with NO exercise due to a partially dislocated knee cap.We have decided to do the full 10 days on Attack so I can't wait to see how we go.

Got a turkey breast out defrosting for dinner, will post some pics and our food diary tonight.

Food Diary: 26/4/12

Breakfast: Oatbran Galette with 5% cream cheese and 3 slices of weight watchers bacon.
Lunch: Chicken breast curry made with spice paste and 0% yoghurt. Delicious.
Afternoon tea: Chocolate pudding. Light ricotta, zero sugar chocolate topping, vanilla essence and sweetener.
Tea: Blade Roast, fat trimmed, opened and grilled on the BBQ.
Drinks: 2 litres of water, Blood Orange diet drink and coffee with sweetener and Physical light milk. Metamucil (I'm sure you all know why!)

Notes: Day three today. Mr Dukan is down 2.1 kgs and I am down 1.5. Sweet cravings kicked in a bit today, but managed with ricotta pudding and diet soft drink.

Who is 'us' I hear you ask?

Currently we are a very cuddly and happily married couple who live in sunny Brisbane with our two adorable daughters and two furry babies.

Me? I'm Mrs Dukan, 33 (just), and he is Mr Dukan, 35. We have been together 12 years, 7 of those married.

Why this blog? Well,let's just say that married life has been a tad too comforting for us. Over the past seven years in particular we have both put on almost 25 kilos each.

My reason? Good food, wine and two pregnancies... His reason? BEER!I have wanted to diet together for a few years, but Mr Dukan has been VERY resistant to any attempts to curb our habits. The straw to break Mr Dukan's back was that he wanted to go sky diving for his 35th birthday. He was informed he needed to lose 15kgs before he could.

So, inspired by the success of our friends who have gone on the Dukan diet, we have decided to embark on this journey together. This blog is to hold us both accountable, motivated and hopefully to document our journey to those who may be inspired by our progress.

I will be putting up our dreaded 'before' pictures, sharing our daily meals and recipes and showing our progress on the scales.
